Benefits of an Insulated Garage Door
Insulation may be very important for homes with attached garages, since your garage shares at least one wall with the rest of the home. A non-insulated garage door will allow heat and cold air from outside into not only your garage, but your home. Of course, you’ll then end up spending much more money on heating and cooling costs. You also might want to consider an insulated door if your garage shares a wall with a bedroom or office, as it will be significantly quieter when operating.
If you keep pets in your garage or use it as a workspace or family fun space, an insulated garage door will help preserve a safe and comfortable temperature. Personal valuables, particularly your cars, will also benefit from being stored in a more even temperature environment. Extreme hot or cold temperatures can have a negative effect on your car’s fluids, battery life, tire pressure and more.
Below you will find pictures of a Steelback Garage Door and a Polyback Garage Door.
STEELBACK GARAGE DOOR
POLYBACK GARAGE DOOR
We can insulate sectional steel garage doors with 2″ vinyl backed polystyrene insulation (friction fitted with an R-6 insulating value) or a double steel insulated garage door with steel on both exterior and interior faces and insulation sandwiched in between. Steelback is certainly stronger and quieter.
